We return again to the hallowed turf of Doomben for this weeks mid-week event. Looks a nice building block leading in a ripper weekend of our first mugs event for All Aged Stakes Day. We are running on a Good 4 with the rail out eleven metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12:33pm AEST.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1660M)
It’s a tough race to start the day but if Capital Girl jumps well then she should go pretty close to winning this as the favourite.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1050M)
In the second event of the day we are stacked with first starters and very happy pass on this race, a few first starters over the shorter trip and the rail out is anyone’s guess who wins this.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1350M)
Da Party Gal is in against the shorts here in Lovelier for the Waller team. Should be able to position up in behind them from the rails draw and if Lovelier is taken on Da Party Gal will be the first to strike. Has been bursting to win a race and over 1350M gets her chance to win.

Race 4: Class 3 Handicap (1660M)
He is got the campaign off to a good start at Ipswich over the 1350M last start and the freedman yard could be 2/2 up here with this bloke. Has a perfect record over the trip and with a good surface under footing and plenty of pace drawn out should be going close to win here.
Race 5: Class 1 Handicap (1050M)
Well there is the field and then Uncle Russ. A six and half length winner first start at Ipswich and suddenly $2 favourite. Was very impressive on debut but till there are a few runs under the belt not sure if you can launch the $2 second up at Doomben. He should lead which always helps but will be a nice watch.
Race 6: Benchmark 65 (1200M)
Last start Tudor Music was pretty good for about 800M of the race and the knocked up late finishing with most of the field. If she takes a sit here and third up to the 1200M this could be the right trip and fitness level for her. Hoping she sits in behind them and can use her turn of foot instead of trying to lead them off. A few of these like to go very very quick so that would not be the right recipe.
Race 7: Benchmark 70 (1350M)
The step out here for the favourite in Fast Talking over the 1350M should see him winning today. Got caught last start in traffic late in the race and once he saw clear air really accelerate nicely. Should be winning here today and looks the best of the day.
Race 8: Benchmark 65 (1200M)
A really nice race to finish the day with a few nice looking prospects. The top are last start winners in Blood Thunder and Thatfeelsbetter. I have settled on Thatfeelsbetter just looks to have a bit more upside and better record, either was this will be a crack and a few of the horses coming out of this good futures going forward I suspect.
