Doomben | April 17

Massive days racing everywhere you look in Queensland this week after all that rain. We have a ten race card today with many maidens and a bit of quality at the backend. We will be racing on a good 4 track with the rail out ten metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 11.27am.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1110M)

Impossible maiden to start the day but they have come for the Meagher runner here so in the spirit of giving I am jumping aboard Tessatori here too. From a decent ally with the inform Melea Castle with the claim and early support happy to side with her.

Race 2: MAIDEN (1110M)

Taltarni Fields was in behind Outlawed first up and then brave again second up! He should be much improved off the back of those two runs and from a low draw should just lead them a merry dance here.

Race 3: MAIDEN (2060M)

This race is simply a leave alone and save your money.

Race 4: Handicap (1350M)

Take the $1.50 about Italian Riveria and throw it in a multi, will be adding some value.

Race 5: MAIDEN (1200M)

Trial hards is what Mozza does and backing Mystic Mac of the back of that is when we listen. Chris Meagher again and the same claimer, with lots of early money looks a great recipe for cashing a cheque.

Race 6: Class 1 (1200M)

This horse has been pretty interesting this prep in going up and down in trip, Surreal Ascot. I think the key here is back to Doomben and where she has had a win over the track and trip and one minor placing. With a low draw and no weight on the back she can be winning a pretty even race of this nature.

Race 7: Benchmark 75 (1660M)

I liked Millward last start but he was belted by Aswaat. There is only a half a kilo weight swing and from a similar draw and a solid fourth up record I think she is primed for this assault here.

Race 8: MAIDEN (1350M)

Pretty keen the Waller runner later in the day and Gollans horse here, Velozes ran second to it last start. From barrier eight and James Orman on, yes we have a competitive field but third up reaching peak fitness should prove the difference here.

Race 9: Benchmark 65 (1350M)

Back Skywriter, double your bet if Velozes wins in the prior race.

Race 10: Benchmark 70 (1200M)

Well I have Great Aspirations, and it has also got a start. This horse has gone bang in two from three starts and the second place the horse that split it, was Press Link. I have a pretty great opinion of it and this Great Aspirations is well over the odds here and best of the day.
