All we do is win, win, win no matter what! The mugs are absolutely flying at the moment, best bets are lobbing left right and centre, Mysty running super last Wednesday and then our boy gets the chocolates Sunday. What a week it has been in the mugverse. We are blessed to be back at Doomben for this midweek meeting and with an eight race card. We will be racing on a soft 5 track with the rail out eleven metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12.33pm.
Race MAIDEN (1350M)
The fact Totspur is odds on behind Black Minto while classy is not exactly the best form does not read well for a bet here, pass.
Race 2: Class 5 (1660M)
Last start First Son was good late holding off the fast finishing Majestics Request. He comes here third up reaching peak fitness and with the claim the ability to sit wide of what looks to be faster tempo he could blaze them down the outside. There is no reason he can’t go on with it here.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)
I am not keen on a bet here but the favourite beat home our boy Sir Carter last preparation and comes up favourite here. Keen to see Ready Azz Eva from our perspective just to frank form around our lad going forward.
Race 4: MAIDEN (1000M)
Another maiden here and another big watch for form going forward. We have sided with Power Flash with Ben Thompson on for the boss man in Tony Gollan. She was in our last race beaten home by Sir Carter and he has since won along with a nice run from Polarising who was not given full galloping room. From a better draw and second up here she will be able to push forward and give them something to catch.
Race 5: Benchmark 65 (1660M)
The favourite here Kokonotsu looks a good bet. He was strong through the line and AJ had them well covered crossing the line. Third up and kept fresh between runs and with the jump in weight the premiership winning jockey in Jimmy Orman hopes on to get this season started.
Race 6: Benchmark 70 (1050M)
Baldassare lines up favourite here and the form around him is pretty good. Beaten by a Sunny Coast specialist in You’ll be Mist first up. The he comes out of races behind Titanium, Inasec and Nashira, which is good form for a race like this. With only one miss over this trip and a win and minor placing at the track he goes on top here.
Race 7: Class 2 (1350M)
Pretty even race this, the favourites from looks good but happy to stay away here.
Race 8: Benchmark 65 (1200M)
Jump, lead and win please Benny! Yes Jayanthi is second here and always needs a run under the belt before success prevails. Ben Thompson jumps aboard and from barrier two she will be able to take this up. While she is yet to taste victory at this track this changes today, and at a very backable each way price.
