Eagle Farm | Best Bets + Preview

Its Cox Plate weekend, and the mugs and mugettes are up and about. We will be racing on a good 4 track with we have the rail out ten metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 1.33pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1800M)

First up behind Tuff Tu Mus for Victory Command and was backed there as well, yes $1.70 but time for us to have another go here, the money will be on late and Collis should get the job done here.

Race 2: MAIDEN (1400M)

Starsonus has been kept fresh and that form behind Acappella Nova looks the form here, she bolted in last start as the Bazinga and Starsonus should simply just win here today as well. Multi it with Victory Command in the first.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)

This is a tough race here, a few of these took on the champ Broadsiding and a couple of others just simply didn’t make the cut. Most are back here first up and I am taking one with race experience in Provance. He was good in two early runs in his first campaign and gets a strong senior rider on from a low draw.

Race 4: MAIDEN (1200M)

Well we managed to put the mock on the Munce yard on Saturday but they bounced back Sunday and should continue that strong form here. Ally was super first up behind Crumpets narrowly missing. Justin Huxtable jumps on and should take it up or camp on leaders back and use that fitness edge to his advantage.

Race 5: Class 5 (1200M)

Small field here but no less difficult to assess. Preach returns but first up happy to see it go around first. I thought Fastconi was pretty good first up and then back to the trials after just missing. Yes he doesn’t love Eagle Farm but with a smaller field hopefully he can balance up in the straight and get last crack at them.

Race 6: Benchmark 65 (1800M)

Connewarre is a last chance today. All the classic followers who tend to slow horses down have jumped off today and the Bazinga is very keen. From a low draw with Cejay on, and solid form all preparation this looks like his race today. Castillian is a nice horse and he was brave in defeat there last start.

Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1400M)

Final race on the program and I am going give the ex kiwi galloper Black Opium a chance fresh today. Has had a very brief preparation here in Queensland and now returns off a quiet trial. From barrier five he will be no more than three pairs back and use that turn off foot he showed second start here.
