Doomben | July 31

For now we remain at Doomben and we have windy and cool conditions here in Brisbane all week. We will be racing on a soft 5 track and we have the rail out ten metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12.33 pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1110M)

Keen to play Edge of Seventeen but there is no jockey nominated.

Race 2: MAIDEN (1200M)

No thanks, majority of the field is unraced.

Race 3: Class 5 (1660M)

Keen to back our trainer in here with Kiplings Journey. Has been super this preparation without winning and the form around Cunnamulla Fella and Madame Odette is simply superb and if he can cross them and control it out in front his track and trip record is a big tick.

Race 4: Benchmark 65 (1200M)

Rockhampton is the form and Quade was very good 1st up there over 1100M and gets out here to 1200M and from a midfield draw he should be able to sit on the back of La Vast Tycoon and Surfers Royale and peel of them late. Lets go Lang!

Race 5: Benchmark 65 (1200M)

Yellowhammer was super last start back and wide and can atone here. Justin Huxtable gets the ride and a good barrier to boot. If he produces similar to last start and stalks the pace early in a race that looks to have a fair bit of tempo I think he can be winning this one.

Race 6: Open Handicap (1350M)

Almost impossible to go past Battlefield here but I just thought if Esjay can pinch a break on the field early with a lack of tempo, the claim from Bailey Wheeler, this horse will not no itself carrying 54 kilos on the back and could prove hard to catch.

Race 7: Class 1 (1350M)

Denmark jump, lead and win. Repeat it from earlier Bailey. Three trials leading in and classic Waller trials to boot which did look to have a bit of improvement. Keen to have another play in this race with Rich Again a really great hope from back in the field after a couple of really good runs.

Race 8: Class 3 (1350M)

Well if Battlefield wins earlier then keen be backing Quothquan. I like the work he did late in the run first up and he will only take improvement out of that. It is hard to gauge where the best of the track will be all day but if the rail is fire, will be good luck catching Deep Respect but lets take him on!
