We get back to headquarters on Saturday for what will be the final Group 1 of the season and what a season it has been! We will be racing on a soft 5 track with we have the rail out six metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 11.43am.
Race 1: MAIDEN (2040M)
The middle distance maiden is a to start the day and just save your money.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1110M)
Matisse will be winning this if this filly’s form is anything to go by with two of three minor placings between Hayasugi the Blue Diamond winner.
Race 3: Open Handicap (1200M)
Saddle up and support the stable here with The Hamo. He was very good last start and while he draws wide here there looks a bit of tempo inside and he can sit off them and blouse past them late.
Race 4: MAIDEN (1200M)
Keeping it simple here and backing in the best jockey in the field and that is Blake Shinn. Glowlight draws out here but peaking third up here and out in trip will suit, and if they are getting off the fence that should offset the poor draw.
Race 5: Benchmark 68 (2040M)
I think the price is probably under the odds but I am keen on Jungle Prince who is out in trip now. The gelding gets the booking of Orman and he might be able to cross them from the draw and sit one out and one back which would be ideal with fitness in the legs.
Race 6: Open Handicap (1200M)
Surely today is the day for North Of Eli, with back to back minor placings and draws barrier one and he can control this or sit just off them and the smart of Blake Shinn should be enough to celebrate a win here with North Of Eli.
Race 7: Class 5 (1200M)
Tough race here, going again with Space Tracker, stays at the same weight and form a similar draw should get a pretty economical run. Maloney staying on board adds a fair bit of confidence too. The dangers here are Amore Veloce with no weight and similarly April in Augusta who was a complete forgive last start in a hot race.
Race 8: Benchmark 72 (1350M)
Denied this preparation simply cannot be denied and with the claim from Emily Lang here, even with the wide draw as long as he isn’t posted around the corner he gets in pretty well here and can make it four in a row.
Race 9: Class 1 (1350M)
This a race of where you question if there were any barriers in side barrier 10 available, because most the chance are in the carpark. Free Carry for Vlad and Tony can be winning here form a nice ally and with form around our boy, Ocean Honour, who will be winning Saturday, Free Carry looks a good bet here.
