It is back to midweek madness and we head back to where dreams are made and that is Doomben racecourse for some more magic. We get to load up on a eight race midweek card at and there are a few nice types going around. We will be racing on a good 4 track with the rail out seven and a half metres for the entire course with the first race is to jump at 1.18pm AEST.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1650M)
The market is pretty standard here basing it solely on the last start runs of Tiritiri and Parallel but its just a watch race for us, miles to open.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1200M)
Well the trial specialist in Queen Assassin has been backed in the market and that is off the back of four trials leading in running second in three and winning the most recent one. We are siding with Idoneus here though for the Schweida yard with the booking of James Orman. She knocked up in her first couple or runs but last start over the 1050M really jumped out of the ground late to grab third. From barrier can camp behind them and if can unleash that burst will be hard to beat.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)
Maiden, first starters just looks to hard.
Race 4: Benchmark 68 (1050M)
Speed on speed on speed in this race. Elegist comes to this off a great first up run but does generally have a flat second up run. Avolonte is a horse who is just bullet proof. She had a really good prep last time in and is two wins and second at Doomben, clearly loves this track. There is pace drawn in and she does go forward but should be able to sit just off them and coming off a trial should be ready to fire here.
Race 5: Benchmark 65 (1350M)
Well if there is one type of form we follow that is Rocky form! Bulikov has that from in behind Chinny Boom last start and was last on the corner and then really ran on well. The 1350M is the key here and while he has come up short it has a nice win in his first prep over Idoneus who I like earlier in the card so that form could be franked from race two.
Race 6: Class 5 (1350M)
I think we have backed about half this field before, Geo has blinkers on last start and was simply awful so looks a false favourite here and Scottish Prince only wins with Peel on. For that reason in a bigger field I think Fifteen Rounds can fire up down the outside and run over this field late with the hot speed.
Race 7: Benchmark 70 (1650M)
The race is classy but they are also pretty even in terms class, happy to be the sidelines for this affair.
Race 8: Class 1 (1200M)
This is a really tough race but have sided with the Cornish team here with Tegan Harrison to ride. Bold Ransom ran past Sacred Oath last start and comes up $10 here almost double the price of Sacred Oath. Third up will be at peak fitness and did handle Ipswich well so should be no problems at Doomben.
