Doomben Preview 14/07/2021

After a huge weekend of quality racing finishing with the Sunshine Coast Guineas and Glasshouse Handicap we move to the midweek Doomben card and it is an unraced horse punting nightmare with a few benchmark 72 and 75 thrown in. Finding beans banger this week is like finding a needle in a hay stack so to assist I have gone far and wide to come up with a few bets to get behind.

As far as the Doomben card goes there only a few bets that we will be playing there. In the third event we have a two year old colts and geldings maiden and the favourite here looks hard to beat. Bobbie Fradd rode Yangari the other Heathcote winner in a trial and the fact he has jumped onto Seefeld suggests all your hard earned should be heading that way. Big watch on Brentwood for Gollan but unraced siding with Seefeld here.

We bypass the middle of the card as its as tough as they come and we quickly shift to the seventh event of the day. Mountbatten is one of those horses that wow he is hard to catch but I think we may be on here at Doomben today. Comes to this and should be as fit as he could, started favourite last start and looked to peak on this run and this I think was due to being four wide around the corner at Eaglefarm. Draws inside in barrier two here and with even luck late and a much tighter track with give in the surface this is a good bet.

In the last we have the Gollan spruik of She’s An Eagle who finally got on the board last start and looks to go back to back here. We finally get a price so I will be on this time looked good last start he will have her primed and Bayliss from barrier eight should have no trouble – time to prove your worth!
