Ipswich | February 15

Ipswich again today for the midweek card today and the smaller racing cards continue again with seven to assess today. We will be racing on a soft 7track with the rail out for six and a half for the entire course and the first race to jump at 1.38pm.

 Race 1: MAIDEN (1200M)

Angela Jones has been going really well at Ipswich and fingers crossed with Lantau Island she is simply handle bars down here. Two lead in trials seem like Lantau Island is primed for this first up assault and drawn low will be able to control this out in front.

Race 2: MAIDEN (1200M)

Well we were with Wynette last start and didn’t look to have too many excuses there. The run of that race ran fourth and lines up here in Azafran. Stormed home to grab fourth and if the pace is on out in front with the rail out again today she will get her chance to run over the top late.

Race 3: Benchmark 70 (1690M)

Well four horse field, what a shemozzle of a race. We are with Autumn Miss, two wins at the track and drawn the pole but literally any of these could win, completely depends on tempo of the race and who is the most proactive jockey when they set off.

Race 4: MAIDEN (1200M)

If Azafran runs well in the second then you can take that form and bet pretty confidently about Annie One Ready here from barrier two with James Orman on board. If both the form and Wynette don’t run well it’s a no bet race for us.

Race 5: Class 5 (800M)

State in Texas has been super in two runs this preparation albeit at Warwick and Gatton. Comes to Ipswich here but stays over the shorter trip and get the claim of Cody Collis. He will sit handy to the tempo and from the barrier should just be too classy and can keep the picket fence dream alive.

Race 6: Class 5 (1200M)

Tarps just peaked on the run latest in town but should have company in the lead here today with Surfers Royale. Stanislaus however was good first up in potentially worst part of the track and Termagant has come out of that race and won in town. Take the $6, you won’t be disappointed.

Race 7: Class 3 (1350M)

Going with the Matt Kropp trained Red Defcon here. Comes through the Fukubana race in town and was good closing off nicely late. That was after a classy second to About to Explode who looks classy and from barrier seven he can camp off the speed and unleash late when the gaps appear.

#Beans Bazinga – Race 6 #4 –  Stanislaus = $6

#Mid-week place multi – R5 #5 x R6 #4 x R7 #3 = $4.56
