Well the Group 1s up here in sunny Queensland begin on Saturday but before we get there we have a magical mid0-week card at Bundamba racetrack. Yes that is correct out to Ipswich we go for this Wednesday meeting. We will be racing on a good 4 track with the rail out four metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12.33pm.
Race Benchmark 65 (1680M)
Interesting race to start the day with the favourite running ok in the Group 2 Guineas however that was at Eagle Farm. We are at Ipswich here today and for that reason I think Cocobrew Express might be able to turn the tables today. This race lacks a bit of pace and does suit those horses up on speed which where he will be and with success at Ipswich before winning two of four starts he can make it three here today.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1200M)
Not really keen here but the favourites map does look sticky, Ma’s Epic from the pole draw could run a cheeky race.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)
Landborough Lad is back for those of us who like pain, good luck if you side that was at the $2.20 quote. Good’n’Lucky is the value beating home Crypto Tycoon last start and drawing the inside, back him each way to have a collect.
Race 4: Class 2 (2170M)
Missy Moola from the rock hard fit Waterhouse and Bott team will be mighty hard to hold out here. She comes over from New Zealand and after two trials the first of which she was half a length of Aft Cabin she will be winning this one, bet up!
Race 5: Benchmark 65 (1680M)
A few of this are first go at the mile and that could prove the deciding factor at the end of this race. I have sided with one of the mugs favourites in Schmoozer dropping weight with the claim from Molloy. He will be sitting just off the pace which should be controlled A Call From Heaven who is the other fancy in the race.
Race 6: Class 1 (1100M)
Hard to split the top two in the market, they will be fighting this one out.
Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1100M)
Ring of Steel blew them away at Ipswich two races ago and then went from the maiden straight into the listed Mick Dittman when he ran dead last but Orman jumps back on here and maybe he just didn’t handle Doomben but I am keen here from barrier two.
Race 8: Benchmark 70 (1200M)
Well fair to say that this is not the race you want to be getting out on but launching into it there is plenty of pace in this race. Hard to split a few of these and for that reason with Orman on board Roll Up looks like a nice bet at the price. He was luckless in three runs last prep but they were all in pretty hot fields with many of his competitors going around in nice race prior. He gets the best map in this race and with the top jockey on big ticks all round.
