Ipswich Preview 19/05/21

Well how do you follow an absolutely cracking Doomben 10,000??? You head out to the home of racing in Brisbane’s West, Bundamba Race Track in a place we call Ippy! We have an eight race card for this mid week meeting and with soft 5 conditions expected and the rail out ten metres the entire circuit we could perhaps see a few run horses get there chance here.

The first two events lead us into two really tough maidens and whilst the first is an absolute lottery over the 1700M the odds on pop in the second looks a nice chance. Princess Tenko comes into this after a second to a pretty smart one in Yesmeena and showed plenty of ticker in that run to get of the canvas late and make a real race of it. Odds on means one thing, MULTI BANKER.

What kind of sad world would it be if we didn’t have a Waller middle distance handicap on a Wednesday mid week meeting? Ill tell you, it would be awful but luckily for us he has brought prospectus all the way out to Ipswich contest this 1710M benchmark 78. I am going back to the well here with Kiriana, improves markedly second up and on that first up run just didn’t seem to go in the ground. Gets a soft track here and with the rail out should give run on horses are chance to round them up on the corner.

There’s a stack of value in the monster field nominated for the fourth event over the 1710M again. Its basically a repeat of the previous with even more Waller runners to confuse you. I have settled on a bit of value here only given more of a push with Maloney jumping on board. Ruby’s Lad has been crying out for a trip and last start really knuckled down again late so looking forward to the extra distance here and drawn inside should get a nice run in transit.

We have an 1100M class three coming in the third and there are a couple we have backed before that line up. The first of may gets another chance at Ipswich but was awfully disappointing and cannot have it on top here. The second in the market Miss Mckinley was super at Gatton and has been flying for the Sears yard. Will lead from the draws gets all the favours and with the main other chance in One Shy Ruby drawn in barrier 15 could have this won and home before the ruby gets going.

I am leaving the sixth alone as the fourth middle distance race of the day and I am moving straight onto the seventh even which looks to be a nice benchmark 65 over the classic Brisbane racing distance, the 1350M. The lioness looks to be a pretty smart one but I think Gollan has an even smarter one in Auron. Comes to this after a nice first up win here just getting home late and was scratched with the heavy surface last week at the Gold Coast. Has only had three runs with a stack of trials in between and I think has been saved and we know that Gollan polish should have him firing, extra distance is the biggest push we need here.

The final event is super competitive BM80 over 1200M and with pace drawn out in mugs favourite Dis Dah Wun along with Superbowl Sunday this race sets up nicely. The former goes up in grade here and drops a few kilos off the back of that which will help. With a 100% strike rate over this track and trip she has to go on top and gets the super in form Ben Thompson coming off a great weekends racing. The biggest danger is Thine is the Power so if you fancy her I wouldn’t talk you out of it.
